What is Quality Rated?
Understanding Georgia's Quality Rating System
Quality Rated is Georgia's voluntary Quality Rating and Improvement System (QRIS) administered by the Georgia Department of Early Care and Learning (DECAL). Programs are rated on a 1-3 star scale based on rigorous standards in five key areas:
- โ Learning Environment โ Safe, stimulating, and developmentally appropriate spaces
- โ Staff Qualifications โ Trained and credentialed educators
- โ Curriculum โ Research-based educational programs
- โ Family Engagement โ Open communication and partnerships
- โ Program Leadership โ Strong organizational management
This system ensures transparency and helps families make informed decisions about early childhood education programs.
